Global Medical Publications and Communications Manager – Oncology

Job Description
Lead and innovate in a dynamic, patient‑focused biopharmaceutical organization. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing the publication and communication strategy for oncology products across the entire product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the publication strategy and scientific communication plans for assigned oncology products and indications across the product lifecycle.
- Optimize the reach, engagement, and impact of study results through sophisticated publication packages in line with therapeutic area objectives and compliance considerations.
- Bring scientific and medical research results to the scientific community, healthcare professionals, patients and caregivers with integrity and accuracy in a transparent, efficient, effective, and timely manner.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of rolling 12‑month strategic publication plans in conjunction with cross‑functional teams, affiliate publication teams and external medical writing and communication agencies.
- Maintain relationships across Ipsen to ensure all relevant information is integrated into centrally managed product or therapy area publication plans.
- Prepare for and follow up actions from regular publication team meetings to drive progress in publishing scientific results.
- Liaise with Global Medical Information and other stakeholder groups to keep bibliographies and reference libraries up to date.
- Manage progress and drive the preparation, review, approval, and congress/journal submission of scientific publications.
- Manage medical communications agencies and the financial aspects of assigned projects.
- Ensure all publication activities meet Good Publication Practices standards and are of high scientific and medical quality.
- Prepare, review, revise and edit scientific documents for external publication as necessary.
- Perform any other activity as may reasonably be required.
- Develop and maintain scientific communication platforms for assigned products in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Communicate publication and communication planning objectives and processes to key stakeholders and ensure proactive involvement.
- Assist therapeutic areas in the creation and review of medical communication activities, ensuring inclusion of up‑to‑date information and regulatory compliance.
- Support therapeutic areas with congress activities, including providing publication input into highlight reports and symposia content.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts in collaboration with finance and other functions to meet company objectives.
Qualifications
- Relevant university degree (BS/BA) or advanced degree in a scientific or medical field (e.g., PharmD or PhD).
- Demonstrated experience of publications and medical communications management in a pharmaceutical company or agency environment.
- Proven experience in publication planning and project management, coordinating the production and delivery of multiple documents, including experience with Datavision.
- Experience in oncology.
- Excellent knowledge of industry regulations and ethical standards related to publications such as Good Publication Practice (GPP) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
- Experience working in a matrix team with strong organizational skills, commercial awareness, and sensitivity to cultural differences.
- Proven experience of scientific medical writing in a business environment.
- Experience developing scientific communication platforms.
- English fluency.
