Full-time Compensation: up to GBP 48,000 per year. Permanent role working Monday to Friday from 10:00 – 06:00. Salary up to £48,000.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Identify and resolve potential issues before they cause failures.
- Respond rapidly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose problems and perform repairs or report to engineering team leader if external specialists are required.
- Carry out machine adjustments, size changes and machine settings when modifications are made.
- Monitor and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy, quality and safety standards are met.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance: PPM schedules, shift reporting, etc.
- Adhere to health & safety guidelines and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- May be involved with project work to bring equipment back to standard, assisting in production performance.
- Familiar with maintaining packing equipment; experience with pneumatic systems, horizontal flow packers, vertical form fill baggers, carton erectors, metal detectors, check weigher, X‑ray machines and bespoke hand packing/labelling lines and printers is advantageous.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with a mechanical bias.
- Experience working within a food or manufacturing environment (desirable).
- Experience within food packaging is an advantage but not essential.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene (preferred).
- Good practice of health & safety.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery including baggers, multi-heads, conveyors and packaging equipment.
- Proactive approach to maintenance and commitment to ensuring the highest levels of equipment reliability.
- Ability to train and develop colleagues when required.
- Good communication skills and ability to make decisions on the spot.
- Ability to work under pressure within a fast‑paced environment.
