IPS have a wonderful opportunity to join the team as a Regional Engineer. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes, supporting day-to-day operations, and contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment. You’ll thrive on variety, take ownership of your work, and bring energy and ideas to the team. You will ensure the implementation of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks and improvements across the Midlands Region, and provide solutions to reduce costs and improve plant efficiencies.

Key responsibilities of a Regional Engineer:

  • Ownership of specific jobs/projects through to successful completion
  • Perform fault diagnosis leading to resolution of random failures on production machinery, identifying root cause in repair process
  • Carrying out planned maintenance tasks as part of a preventative maintenance strategy
  • Complete risk assessments/method statements to ensure safe running of all factory equipment and processes
  • Identify and report all stock/spares issues
  • Liaise with production on plant outages to ensure minimum downtime of production equipment
  • Prioritise own work load with consideration to output, product quality and line efficiency
  • Proactive approach to identify improvements to increase line and machinery efficiencies
  • Complete all line checks and documentation as required
  • To assist in the training and development of new starters
  • To act as a role model for best practice
  • Monitor, control and minimise waste
  • Play an active part in continuous improvement
  • To participate in the company’s PDP program
  • To act as specialist for machinery knowledge
  • Drive own personal development through training and work based experience
  • Manage the output of assigned production and effectively deal with issues as and when they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Experience of working in a food factory environment would be advantageous
  • Fully complete apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Able to communicate and motivate others is an essential part of the role
  • Understanding of internal systems and processes, with the ability to work within these parameters
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements is essential
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition, and a clear focus on meeting deadlines
  • Must be flexible in approach to work and undertake overtime during busy periods when required
  • Management Ability - The post holder must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Must also be able to communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the department
  • Must be able to make own decisions and liaise with other department colleagues and/or departments
