Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity is now available for an Engineering Apprentice to join our team in Dudley! As an Engineering Apprentice, you will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the technical function and ensure that company quality standards are adhered to.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour working week.
Salary: £11.44 per hour.
Key Duties of an Engineering Apprentice:
- Assisting the Production team where possible.
- Assist with the monitoring of machines and ancillary plant.
- Follow preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.
- Assisting with repairs during production.
- Assisting with planned maintenance.
- Build knowledge and experience in the following: Horizontal flow packers, vertical form fill baggers, carton erectors, gluing systems, met/dets, checkweighers, pallet wrapping m/c, shrink wrapping and various bespoke hand packing/labelling lines some with printers.
- To assist in scheduled work to restore machines and site back to standard.
- To assist in changeovers when required.
- Look for opportunities to continuously improve machine performance.
- To take part in training and development when required.
- To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
Qualifications:
- GCSE English and Maths - Grade 4 or above required.
- Engineering qualification will need to be completed as part of the apprenticeship.
- Must be able to communicate within their own team and to key stakeholders.
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition, and a clear focus on meeting deadlines.
- Must be flexible in approach to work.
