IPS Group is working with a fast‑growing, tech‑led insurance business specialising in motor to recruit a senior hire to lead their Claims function. This is a key role within a business going through a major UK expansion and a full transformation of their claims operation, continuing to evolve their in‑house claims capability following a period of outsourced support.
The Role / Team
This is a strategic position focused on building and leading the Technical & Complex Claims function from the ground up. You will be responsible for designing the operating model, setting the overall technical approach to claims, and scaling a high‑performing team over time. The role will cover areas including large loss, complex bodily injury and credit hire, acting as the senior technical authority across the business. You will be involved in escalations on high‑value cases, challenging claims strategy, and influencing key decisions around reserving, indemnity spend and overall portfolio performance. There is also a strong transformation element, working closely with the Head of Claims to bring more of the claims function in‑house, alongside partnering with product and engineering teams to help shape how claims are built into their in‑house platform.
Required Skills & Experience
We are looking for a senior claims professional with a strong background in UK motor claims, ideally with experience building or transforming complex claims functions. You will have deep technical expertise across areas such as large loss, complex bodily injury and credit hire, along with strong commercial awareness around reserving and loss ratio performance. Previous leadership experience is important, as well as the ability to work cross‑functionally with stakeholders and internal tech teams. A more progressive or change‑led background will suit this environment well.
What’s in it for you
You will receive a competitive salary with scope to increase as the role develops, alongside a bonus scheme (split between company and individual performance) and a strong benefits package. This is an opportunity to join a growing business at a key stage of its journey, with the chance to build a function rather than inherit one.
