IPS Group is working with a modern, award-winning MGA and Lloyd’s coverholder to recruit a Business Development Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded individual to join an agile sales function supporting portfolio growth and market expansion. The role is home-based covering the South West region, with a strong focus on developing broker relationships across the market. You'll be expected to spend significant time meeting brokers face-to-face, attending market events, and maintaining a visible presence throughout your territory.

The Role / Team:

You will focus on SME Commercial Combined business, particularly food & hospitality and some leisure accounts. The role is data-led, using broker performance metrics to drive new submissions, improve conversion rates, and influence broker development strategies. You will engage meaningfully with national and regional brokers, review portfolio performance, and contribute ideas to enhance the wider distribution strategy. Working closely with underwriting, marketing, claims, and data teams, you will support the growth of a large book of business.

Required Skills & Experience:

We are seeking to speak to candidates with prior MGA experience, a fast-paced commercial mindset, and proven ability in analytics, negotiation, broker development, and achieving growth against targets. Strong communication and relationship management skills are essential, as is the ability to make data-driven decisions to support strategic objectives. Experience with e-trade platforms and SME commercial lines is highly advantageous.
