Job Description

Function description
As an offshore Bosun, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the deck crew to ensure safe and efficient operations onboard. Your duties include overseeing deck procedures, managing deck maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
You will lead the Able Seamen and other deckhands in tasks such as cargo handling, rigging, and general upkeep of the vessel's exterior. The Bosun also assists in planning and executing maintenance schedules, conducts safety drills, and reports directly to the Chief Officer regarding deck operations. Strong leadership, seamanship skills, and knowledge of offshore safety protocols are essential.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must hold the following certifications and documents:
- GWO Working at Heights and Sea Survival;
- UK Frontier Worker Permit;
- BOSIET, HUET and CA-EBS;
- STCW certificates;
- Offshore medica, MLC Medicall;
- Appraisals from previous employers;
- Seaman's book.
