Wind Turbine Technician Apprenticeship – London Array Windfarm

Salary: £17,510 in year 1; increases each year. Accommodation: Provided at college.
Training provider: IPS International Ltd.
What you’ll do
- Hands-on maintenance of offshore wind turbines.
- Classroom training in Rochester for the first 2 years and on-site training at London Array for year 3.
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled, unscheduled and proactive maintenance on wind turbines.
- Use advanced mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment safely.
- Plan required tools, spares and materials.
- Fault-find and diagnose turbine components; advise on repair or exchange.
- Develop multi-skill technical knowledge across turbine inspection, maintenance, and repair.
Requirements
- GCSE: 5 subjects including English, Maths, Science (grade 4/C+).
- Ability to work at height and at sea; willingness to work shifts.
- Must live within an hour of the site.
- Willingness to learn and interest in engineering.
Training
- Mechatronics Maintenance Technician (Level 3); NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering.
