Overview
At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a Graduate Procurement Buyer to join our team out of our office located in Birmingham, UK.
Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving and processing requisitions from project teams.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely placement with vendors.
- Track and expedite orders to ensure the timely receipt of goods and services.
- Maintain supplier records and assist with the Approved Supplier Program.
- Help resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure appropriate cost allocations.
- Coordinate the return of non-compliant products and ensure credits or invoice adjustments are processed.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, monitor price changes, and communicate updates with the procurement team.
- Support the evaluation of new subcontractors and vendors.
- Assist in assessing vendor proposals for completeness and quality.
- Contribute to procurement reporting, including diversity spending and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A recent graduate with a Bachelor\’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and a willingness to learn procurement software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset with a keen interest in procurement and supply chain processes.
