We are looking for a dedicated Project Estimator to join our talented team at our office located in Birmingham, UK. In this role, you will be assigned to projects to review, coordinate, and summarize the activities of cost control, planning and scheduling, document control, and estimating. You may also assume other commercial duties as designated by the Manager of Project Controls.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze potential project problems.
  • Recommend corrective action and follow up on recommendations.
  • Promote communication and teamwork within groups and projects.
  • Supervise/mentor junior estimating personnel assigned to the project as needed.

Experience In Developing And Managing The Following

  • Prepares estimates from conceptual through detailed design.
  • Experienced in estimating Structural, and MEP estimates on commercial, pharmaceutical, and industrial projects.
  • Estimates are aligned to the appropriate chart of accounts: Uniformat, Master format, WBS, etc.
  • Develop unit assembly pricing.
  • Gathers and evaluates project conditions and cost impacts, escalations, etc.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Calculating Risk and Risk Management.
  • RFP/Bid preparation and analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of EPCV Project Controls both Cost and Scheduling.
  • Ability to develop an EPCV schedule using proper WBS and OBS parameters.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 8 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in all facets of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPC).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field: engineering, project management, construction management.
  • Experience in cost engineering, estimating, scheduling, earned value management.
  • Professional credentialing is strongly encouraged: CCT or CCP, CST or CSP, EVP, CMIT or CCM, PMP, EIT.

Computer Skills

  • High level of computer expertise in multiple industry-wide software products, such as:
  • MS Office Products
  • Scheduling software such as Primavera and MS Project
  • Estimating software such as Accubid, Timberline, Procore, Prism G2, etc.

Useful Software

  • Client ERP systems such as JDE, QUAD, SAP, ARIBA, CONCUR
  • PPM Software: Prolog, Proliance, Prism G2, Procore, Cleopatra, Cora Systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced working in trades is valuable.

Context, Environment, & Safety

  • A safety-minded individual who must comply with the IPS Mission Zero Safety policy.
  • Capable of working alone or as part of a team without a significant level of supervision.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time with extended computer use.
  • Experience working in both a Home Office and Field environment.
  • Travel to client sites as needed.
