Job Description

We are looking for a talented Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our industry-leading Accounting/Finance team located in Birmingham, UK.
In this role, you'll perform varied and more complex clerical accounting activities in the areas of A/P and other accounting functions. May be involved in project work such as report writing and analysis, research, and client interaction.
Additional Responsibilities
- Code, enter, and process accounts payable invoices from vendors and subcontractors.
- This includes routing posted invoices for approval, maintaining open A/P files, preparing check runs for approved invoices, cutting checks as directed, routing checks for approval and signature, and coordinating the delivery to vendors.
- Interacting and coordinating the entire accounts payable process with the Chief Financial Officer, Operation Executives, Project Managers, Subcontractors/vendors, other members of the Accounting
- Classifies and codes transactions to appropriate accounts.
- group and others throughout the company from time to time.
- Handle vendor, subcontractor inquiries related to status of invoices (A/P). Reconcile general ledger in accordance with predetermined standards on a monthly basis, create final reports and forward to key management staff. Take the necessary steps to adjust any discrepancies.
- Reconcile the monthly travel reports to assure accurate reporting of travel costs.
- Creates reports as requested and provides statistical and financial analysis on the data so key staff can make strategic conclusions.
- Checks and verifies accuracy of routine calculations and/or reports.Matches checks to invoices.Conducts routine audits of work.
- Performs various clerical duties in the department such as mail sorting, filing, faxing and photocopying.
- Performs all job duties utilizing a strong sense of fiscal responsibility.
- Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years accounting experience with proficiency in spreadsheets and formulas.
- Associates Degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Ability to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines.Highly reliable with strong organization skills to manage a large amount of documents and information.
- A sense of urgency with an ability to multitask and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to efficiently interact with both internal and external contacts.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with Timberline Accounting is preferred.
All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
