TPA Liability Claims Handler

Location: Remote
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Liability Claims Handler to join a well-established Loss Adjuster managing a portfolio of Employers' Liability and Public Liability claims on behalf of a range of insurer and corporate clients.

The RoleYou will be responsible for managing liability claims from first notification through to settlement, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, fairly and in line with client requirements, regulatory standards and internal procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of Employers' Liability and Public Liability claims.
  • Reviewing and assessing liability, quantum and coverage.
  • Establishing the circumstances surrounding claims and identifying potential fraud or third-party involvement.
  • Instructing and liaising with solicitors, loss adjusters, investigators and other external suppliers where appropriate.
  • Negotiating settlements with claimants and their representatives.
  • Making appropriate indemnity and liability decisions within delegated authority.
  • Maintaining accurate claims records and ensuring files are handled in accordance with FCA and client requirements.
  • Providing a high level of service to clients, brokers and other stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve claims outcomes and minimise claims leakage.
  • Managing claims in line with agreed SLAs, KPIs and internal governance requirements.

About YouWe are looking for someone with previous experience handling Liability claims, ideally within a TPA, insurer, broker or loss adjusting environment.
You will ideally have:

  • Experience handling Employers' Liability and/or Public Liability claims.
  • A good understanding of liability principles and claims processes.
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and work to deadlines.
  • A customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working within delegated authority and agreed claims protocols.

CII qualifications or a willingness to work towards them would be advantageous, but relevant claims experience is the priority.
