Part-Time Head of Finance - Financial Leadership in Shipley

Job Description Our client is a privately owned investment group with a diverse portfolio spanning investment management, property and private investments. With interests across multiple businesses, they offer a stable, long-term environment and exposure to a broad range of activities within a multi-entity structure.
Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, this is a varied, hands-on role based within the group's holding company. You'll play a key part in financial reporting, statutory compliance and group accounting, while supporting the wider finance function.
It's an excellent first move out of practice for an ACA or ACCA, or equally suited to an experienced Finance Manager looking to broaden their exposure in a group environment. Key ResponsibilitiesPreparing monthly management accounts across a portfolio of group companiesProducing group consolidations and managing intercompany accountingManaging the year-end audit process, including audit schedules and liaising directly with external auditorsPreparing VAT returns and ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance across the groupProducing board packs, management information and financial analysis to support decision-makingManaging cash reporting and balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting month-end closeOwning day-to-day finance operations: invoice processing, journals, bank reconciliations and financial records (Sage)Supporting payroll and working closely with the wider finance teamIdentifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls across the groupContributing to ad hoc finance projects as the business growsCandidate ProfileACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience, with strong technical accounting knowledgeBackground in accountancy practice or a technical finance roleExperience preparing management accounts and year-end financial informationGood understanding of audit, statutory accounts and financial complianceConfident managing multiple stakeholders and competing prioritiesStrong attention to detail, proactive and hands-onGroup accounting or multi-entity experience beneficial but not essentialPackage & Working PatternSalary £45,000£60,000 (depending on experience)Annual bonusComprehensive benefits packageOffice-based, with flexibility as requiredStable, privately owned business with a collaborative finance teamProgression & OpportunityYou'll work closely with an experienced Head of Group Finance through a structured 1824 month handover, gradually taking on broader responsibilities.
