Our client is a well established and growing accountancy and business advisory firm with a strong presence across Yorkshire and the wider region. Supporting a broad portfolio of businesses, the firm provides a full range of audit, accounting, tax and advisory services. Following continued growth they are looking to appoint an Audit Manager to strengthen their audit team. This is a key leadership role within the audit function, taking responsibility for managing a varied client portfolio, overseeing audit assignments from planning through to completion, and supporting the development of junior team members. The successful candidate will work closely with Partners and senior stakeholders, contributing to client relationships and the ongoing growth of the service line.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of audit and assurance clients across a range of sectors
- Planning, coordinating and reviewing statutory audit assignments
- Leading audit teams on-site and remotely, ensuring delivery to budget and deadlines
- Reviewing audit files and financial statements prepared by junior staff
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the audit process
- Identifying opportunities to add value through advisory and business support services
- Supervising, mentoring and developing trainees and qualified team members
- Managing workflow and resource allocation across multiple engagements
- Supporting Partners with client proposals, tenders and business development activities
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards
Candidate Profile
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Strong audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
- Previous experience managing audit assignments and client relationships
- Experience supervising and developing junior staff
- Confident communicator with a commercial and client-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high technical standards
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
