Fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established, independent, chartered firm of Accountants based in Burnley. This firm offers a range of services to their clients, including accounting, audit, tax, and outsourcing. You will have the opportunity to command your own portfolio of clients and be responsible for client contact for your portfolio.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Managing your own portfolio of clients
- Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Preparation of management accounts
- Assisting with bookkeeping and VAT
- Preparation of Personal Tax and Corporate Tax returns
- Supporting junior members of the team
To qualify for the Senior Accountant role, ideally you will meet the below:
- AAT, ACA, or ACCA qualified
- Experience working as a Senior Accountant in an Accountancy firm
- Experience with accounting software, including cloud-based accounting platforms and add-ons, including Xero and QuickBooks, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Good general accounting knowledge, particularly the requirements of FR102A, employment taxes, and VAT
- Knowledge of CIS would be advantageous due to the nature of our client base, but not required
