A growing construction business in Wakefield is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Finance Director to provide hands-on financial leadership and support the directors through its next phase of growth.
This is a broad, operational role requiring someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, lead the existing team and provide commercial insight to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities Take overall responsibility for the finance function and manage the existing finance team.
Oversee cash flow, forecasting and working capital management.
Provide accurate and timely management accounts and financial reporting.
Support the directors with financial planning, commercial decisions and business strategy.
Monitor project profitability, costs and margins.
Strengthen financial controls, processes and reporting.
Provide hands-on support across the finance function as required.
The Person Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
Previous Finance Director or senior Financial Controller experience.
Strong construction sector experience is highly desirable.
Hands-on approach, comfortable leading from the front.
Strong cash flow management and commercial finance skills.
Confident supporting and challenging directors while managing a finance team.
