The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
Reporting directly into the Global Head of Risk Management, you will be working with a global team of highly skilled in-house Risk Engineers who play a key role for our business by undertaking detailed risk surveys in the field and via desktop reviews. The role includes making risk quality assessments, calculating Loss Estimations (in line with associated guidelines), making risk improvement recommendations, advising underwriters on technical matters, etc. Your time will be split between performing on-site surveys and desktop reviews assessing risks on available information, documenting findings, making recommendations to underwriting colleagues and advising customers on a one-to-one basis.
Job Duties:
- Perform Surveys and Desk Reviews for designated risks
- Completing survey programs by conducting on-site surveys
- Developing recommendations and requirements to improve the client risk profile and reduce loss frequency/severity
- Consulting the client so that improvement to risk will occur
- Provide quality, timely and accurate reports
- Completing desktop reviews to assess risk management standards for prospect and other cases
- Conduct desktop risk profiling tasks as required
- Support the underwriting framework
- Work in partnership with underwriters to develop and maintain risk selection filters
- Develop greater awareness of inherent risk
- Perform training workshops for the underwriting community
- Support business development opportunities
- Raise the profile of the group's risk engineering capabilities
- Engage risk engineering services in proposition development
Communication & Relationships:
- To represent the group to clients and brokers whilst conducting surveys and during client/broker meetings
- Contribute to the development of relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Drive improvements in customer/broker values and perception by service improvements in the risk engineering process
Requirements:
- Formal Engineering qualification: Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or similar
- Experience in Engineering and/or Construction industry
- Experience working with large and complex projects
- Have a solid understanding of Construction / Property Engineering Risk and associated Insurance and Claims
- Excellent communication, analytical, relationship management and decision-making skills
- Be resilient to change, and a strong team player who is collaborative and committed
- Continuously seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Highly customer orientated, mindful of the human value that the insurance industry offers the people we strive to support
- Have built a strong career in large and complex risk assessment
- An advantage would be a strong background and/or experience in insurance risk engineering
- Language skills would be an advantage
