A leading and innovative insurer is seeking a senior underwriter to join its high-performing Professional Indemnity (PI) team.

This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual to join a portfolio that has consistently outperformed the Lloyd\’s market for over two decades. With the PI portfolio experiencing significant growth and targeting a further 15% expansion in 2026, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving new business and shaping the future of the portfolio.

The role focuses primarily on open market business, with a significant proportion of the book written on a delegated authority basis. The team leads the vast majority of the portfolio, which is globally diversified: UK,US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and LATAM. The underwriting strategy is niche-driven, and growth will continue only in areas where the business has deep expertise and a proven track record including specialist engineers legal, Lloyd\’s brokers, and misc.

The business is highly client-centric and the ideal candidate would be an underwriter or broker with 5–10 years of actual PI underwriting experience, preferably from a syndicate background, with exposure to specialist engineering risks and broader professions. Experience in the US market would be advantageous although not essential.

This is a role for someone who is confident in client meetings, commercially minded, and ready to contribute to the team\’s continued success.
