Are you an experienced site investigation operative ready for something a little different? A well-established UK loss adjusting business is building an in-house site investigation team and this is your chance to be part of it from day one.
A well-established UK loss adjuster with specialisms in subsidence, property, liability and high net worth claims is looking to grow their team within their geotechnical capacity. Their work is consistently rated Excellent by external clients and they are now investing in building out their own in-house ground investigation capability to complement existing suppliers. This is a genuinely new team and you would be shaping it from the ground up.
The Role
Based remotely and covering sites along the M1 corridor between Bedford and London, you will be carrying out ground investigations that directly support subsidence and property insurance claims. This is hands-on, varied fieldwork where your expertise genuinely matters and no two sites are the same. Day to day you will be involved in window sampling, rotary drilling, trial pits and boreholes, soil sampling, in-situ testing, and the proper handling and labelling of samples. You will also be responsible for the installation and recording of crack monitoring equipment and accurate logging of all investigation and sampling activity.
Essential Skills:
- A genuine interest in ground engineering, geology or construction
- The ability to work outdoors and handle physical fieldwork
- Strong attention to detail in data recording
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in ground investigation or drilling
- Knowledge of UK soil types
- Familiarity with geotechnical testing
- Ideally some exposure to subsidence claims work
