This is a varied and hands-on role offering the opportunity to take full responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities of Finance Manager Take full ownership of the day-to-day finance function, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of all accounting processes.
Manage the sales and purchase ledgers, including customer and supplier reconciliations, debtor and creditor management, and monitoring customer credit limits.
Complete all bookkeeping activities using Sage 50 Accounts, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Process and reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, sales invoices, customer payments, credit notes, purchase orders, supplier payments, and monthly bank reconciliations.
Prepare and process payroll, pension contributions, HMRC submissions, and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with all statutory deadlines.
Oversee payments relating to company vehicles, utilities, insurance, accreditations, and other business expenses.
Prepare monthly Management Accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports, providing accurate financial information to support business decision-making.
Produce financial reports and analysis for senior management, including monitoring company and product profitability.
Monitor stock purchasing and inventory levels to support budget control and efficient stock management.
Maintain and improve financial controls, ensuring company procedures are followed, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, minimise errors, and strengthen internal processes.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, insurance requirements, and key business accreditations.
Manage and troubleshoot Sage 50 Accounts, supporting system improvements and implementing product and pricing updates where required.
Supervise and support the Accounts Assistant, providing guidance, training, and day-to-day direction.
Provide HR and office administration support, including holiday and absence recording, onboarding new employees, supporting recruitment and employee relations processes, ordering office supplies, and overseeing office facilities.
Support the Directors with ad hoc financial analysis, business projects, and operational tasks as required.
Experience & Skills Required Previous experience in a hands-on Finance Manager or Senior Bookkeeper position.
Strong bookkeeping knowledge with the ability to produce Management Accounts.
Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts (Sage 200 experience would be advantageous).
Experience of payroll, VAT, HMRC submissions, and credit control.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.
