An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join a well-established Claims and Risk Management business and play a key role in the continued growth of its Surveying Services division.
The business has an established reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across domestic and commercial property claims, with particular expertise across property, subsidence, liability and high net worth claims.
The Role
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will assess and evaluate property damage claims, providing technical expertise throughout the claims process.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out property surveys, inspections and investigations to assess damage and establish the scope of works.
- Preparing detailed reports, repair recommendations and budget replacement costs.
- Producing schedules of works, tender documentation and undertaking tender analysis.
- Managing pre and post-contract administration.
- Working closely with loss adjusters, claims handlers, insurers and other stakeholders.
- Investigating the cause and circumstances of property damage.
- Reviewing policies and coverage to ensure claims are handled in line with policy terms.
- Acting as Principal Designer under CDM Regulations 2015 where required.
- Undertaking Party Wall Surveyor duties.
- Reviewing and negotiating repair costs, invoices and third-party scopes of work.
- Supporting claim settlements and undertaking schedules of reduction.
- Providing technical guidance to policyholders and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate records and providing expert support for legal proceedings where required.
About You
You will be an experienced Chartered Surveyor with a strong background in building surveying and ideally experience within insurance, loss adjusting or claims.
You will have:
- MRICS or equivalent Chartered status.
- Strong knowledge of building surveying, construction methods and property damage.
- Experience surveying both domestic and commercial properties.
- Knowledge of insurance claims and policy coverage.
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to work autonomously while managing multiple claims and assignments.
- A proactive approach to meeting KPIs and SLAs.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to claim sites.
