A leading litigation practice is seeking an experienced Civil or Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join its Leeds office as part of a senior solicitor leadership group. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded litigator with strong debt recovery experience to take on a broader supervisory role supporting team performance, technical excellence and departmental growth, while managing a smaller complex caseload.

Candidate Profile / Experience Needed

  • 5+ years’ PQE in civil or commercial Litigation
  • Strong debt recovery and contractual disputes experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules across all tracks
  • Experience handling complex litigation matters independently
  • Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach
  • Previous mentoring or supervisory experience

The role will involve:

  • Supervising and auditing the work of more junior case handlers in the department on debt recovery work
  • Managing your own smaller caseload of higher value debt recovery and commercial dispute work
  • Advising clients on strategy, risk and outcomes
  • Drafting statements of case, applications and witness statements
  • Supporting junior team members and assisting with team performance
  • Working closely with senior leadership on quality and process improvement
