We’re currently recruiting for a Graduate Underwriting Assistant to join a well-established underwriting team based in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a respected organisation that specialises in legal indemnity insurance and supports major property and finance transactions across the UK.
In this role, you'll be working closely with experienced Underwriters, gaining hands-on experience across a range of tasks. You’ll help review and summarise legal and property-related documents, handle new business enquiries, liaise with clients and brokers, and assist with policy wordings. Over time, you’ll build a strong understanding of legal indemnity risks and develop the confidence to assess complex scenarios, contribute to underwriting decisions and support high-value cases.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Gathering and preparing information to support underwriting decisions
- Communicating with clients and brokers via phone and email
- Assisting with drafting and reviewing policy wordings
- Keeping internal systems up to date and accurate
- Building strong working relationships with solicitors, clients and intermediaries
