Job Description

Role OverviewA highly respected national law firm is looking to appoint a qualified solicitor (0–5 PQE) to join its established and well-regarded Disease team, with opportunities available in Birmingham or Leicester.The role focuses on handling a caseload of litigated noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) claims, alongside supporting senior colleagues on complex, high-value asbestos-related cases. The firm acts on behalf of large insurer clients and self-insured corporates and is known for its depth of expertise in industrial disease litigation.Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing a personal caseload of NIHL claims
  • Supporting on complex disease matters led by Partners and senior lawyers
  • Drafting strategy reports, pleadings, and legal advice
  • Attending client meetings, court hearings, and conferences
  • Undertaking legal research and investigations
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and meeting internal KPIs and targets
Candidate Profile/Experience NeededIdeal candidates will:
  • Be a qualified solicitor with 0–5 years' PQE, and must have experience in NIHL cases from a claimant or defendant perspective
  • Demonstrate solid litigation skills and familiarity with fast/multi-track claims
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Show strong analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a commercial, client-focused mindset
  • Be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Be open to flexible and agile working practice
