Job Description
Our client is a well-established and growing SME providing specialist engineering and technical services across the UK.The Financial Controller will lead a small finance and systems team, overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and compliance across the business. The role combines technical accounting with commercial insight, providing support to senior management in both strategic and operational decisions. The successful candidate will also contribute to process improvement, systems development, and the ongoing enhancement of financial controls.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small finance team, maintaining professional standards and efficiency
- Prepare management accounts, cashflow forecasts, budgets, and year-end reporting
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and audit requirements
- Support senior management with financial insight and commercial decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in an SME or owner-managed business.
