The Role
We’re on the lookout for a Commercial Underwriter who enjoys getting out and building real relationships. This is a field-based role where you’ll spend a couple of days each week visiting agencies, with the rest of your time working from home. You’ll be focusing purely on existing business, so no chasing new leads, just developing strong, long-term partnerships and delivering great underwriting support. The work is varied, covering a mix of Property & Casualty risks, typically in the £35K-£100K+ premium range. You’ll act as a go-to expert for existing clients in your patch helping them navigate complex cases, make confident decisions, and ultimately deliver the best outcomes for customers. Alongside this, you’ll keep an eye on performance, spotting trends and identifying areas for improvement, while sharing your knowledge to strengthen underwriting capability across the network.
What We’re Looking For
A proven Underwriter with strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance is key, along with the confidence to make decisions and work independently. You’ll be someone who naturally builds strong relationships, can influence and advise others, and is comfortable analysing data to spot trends or opportunities. Given the nature of the role involving travel, you must be flexible with your working hours and hold a full valid UK license.
