IPS Group is proud to be working with this highly regarded and innovative Insurer to support them with hiring an existing business Construction Underwriter. You will join their construction underwriting team in either Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds. As a Construction Underwriter you will handle a variety of interesting Construction policies. Risks range from electrical contractors, HVAC contractors, building service engineers to finishing trades and building contractors and offer a wide range of product sections including cross class liability, professional liability and property. This is a great opportunity if you're an experienced underwriter who enjoys relationship management, renewals, and making commercial decisions, all within a business that genuinely puts people first.

Key Duties:

  • Managing a portfolio of renewals, MTAs, and referrals across construction risks
  • Delivering a high level of service to brokers via phone, email, and e-trading platforms
  • Underwriting within authority limits, ensuring profitability and compliance with guidelines
  • Building strong relationships with brokers and keeping those partnerships growing
  • Working closely with brokers to secure renewals and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
  • Attending underwriting meetings and sharing insights on market trends and performance
  • Collaborating with technical teams and the wider business
