IPS Group is partnering with a leading global insurer to recruit a Business Development Manager to further strengthen their presence across the UK commercial insurance market focusing on the South West region from Gloucester down towards Devon and Cornwall. You will manage a panel of strategic partnerships with Brokers across the South West both maintaining existing relationships and growing new ones. This role will be part of the regional leadership team which will involve attendance at monthly branch sales meetings.
This is a key role suited to someone with a natural ability to build strong broker relationships, a commercial mindset, and the motivation to represent a respected name in the market. Candidates in an existing Broker Development role will be ideal; however, strong New Business Underwriters as well as Brokers with a desire to move over to an Insurer will also be considered.
You will lead broker engagement across important regional areas, developing and implementing relationship strategies that support the business’s growth objectives. The role involves managing a blend of new business generation and key account development, with a focus on commercial lines across a variety of sectors. You will work closely with internal leadership teams to deliver value-driven solutions to clients.
Face-to-face interaction is a significant part of the role, with regular travel to broker meetings, industry events, and collaboration with colleagues in regional hubs. The ideal candidate will have experience within the UK commercial insurance market and be confident in their communication skills, enjoying the process of developing partnerships and representing the business externally.
A proactive and independent approach is essential, along with the ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and work effectively within a regional team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and empowered team where you will have the autonomy to make decisions and the backing to deliver results. With exposure to both SME and mid-market clients, this role offers a meaningful platform for professional growth within a respected, forward-thinking insurer.
Salary and benefits can be discussed; for the right individual, a basic salary of up to £100,000 could be offered alongside a market-leading benefits package.
