An established and reputable independent firm of accountants in Bradford is looking to recruit an Assistant Audit and Accounts Manager to join its friendly and growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified or qualified by experience accountant who enjoys variety in their work and wants to work in a supportive environment.

About the Role

While the role will be primarily focused on accounts preparation and review, it will also involve supporting a small number of audit assignments, offering a well-rounded and engaging workload. Youll work closely with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, across a range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Support and lead on audit fieldwork for a small number of clients, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, reviewing work and providing feedback.
  • Build strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day queries.
  • Assist partners and managers in delivering high-quality client service and meeting deadlines.

  • ACA or ACCA qualifiedor Qualified by Experience.
  • Practice background, with strong experience in accounts preparation.
  • Exposure to audit work (even limited) is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
