This isn't a deskâbound role. It's for someone who enjoys being out in the market, engaging brokers, and bringing in new business, as well as handling renewals. The property line is the biggest in the UK portfolio, and the growth ambition is clear. The team also recently signed onto a major market facility, opening the door to new pipelines and larger, more complex risks.
You'll be underwriting UK and multinational property accounts, including large midâmarket and corporate clients with premiums in the ÂŁ4â5 m range, so you'll be dealing with substantial, highâvalue businesses. And the best part? You'll have genuine autonomy, a clear framework, and the empowerment to make decisions.
You'll be joining a team of experienced underwriters who genuinely know their stuff, both in property and casualty. They're backed by marketâfacing colleagues and a supportive business development lead, making it a tightâknit, wellâconnected unit.
You're a confident underwriter with a strong grounding in property, ideally with experience handling large midâmarket or corporate clients. You enjoy the buzz of broker engagement, thinking commercially, and having the autonomy to move quickly without constant red tape. If you've handled multinational risks, that's a bonusâbut it's not a dealbreaker.
In return, you will receive a competitive salary, a potential bonus, and a competitive benefits package. You will also be supported in your insurance exams if you wish to take them. The position will be based at their central Birmingham office with 1/2 days in the office.
