Defendant Claims Handler – Post Litigation

Location: Bradford, Hybrid
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of Defendant EL/PL cases, mainly fast‑track with some low‑value matters. Responsibilities include handling files from instruction through to settlement, assessing liability as well as building a strong defence. You’ll be part of a team of 18 professionals, including 6 litigators and claims handlers who assist with pre‑litigation work. You will have the chance to contribute to team success, get involved in projects, and support junior colleagues ensuring clients receive high‑quality service.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Confident and experienced Defendant PI Litigator or Senior EL/PL Claims Handler with at least 5 years’ experience in an EL/PL claims role.
  • Experience with retail claims is advantageous, along with the ability to hit the ground running in a busy, fast‑paced team.
  • Candidates from either a legal or insurer background will be considered. Defendant‑side experience is preferred, though those from a claimant background with strong technical knowledge and understanding of defendant processes are also encouraged to apply.
