An established, privately owned manufacturing business in Bradford is looking to appoint a Financial Controller. The company has a long trading history, operates across a small group structure and has built a strong position within its specialist market. This is a hands-on senior finance role with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function across the group. Working closely with the senior management team, the Financial Controller will take ownership of reporting, controls, budgeting and cash management, while providing financial information to support decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across the group, including payroll, VAT, credit control and supplier payments
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and KPI reporting
  • Provide financial commentary and analysis, including reporting on performance and key variances against budget
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with sales, production and operational teams
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and financial planning across the business
  • Maintain appropriate financial controls and continue to improve finance processes and reporting
  • Prepare year-end and statutory accounting information and liaise with external auditors and advisers on accounting and tax matters
  • Provide commercial financial input into business projects, investment decisions and potential acquisitions
  • Support senior management with ad hoc analysis and financial information to assist decision making

Package and working pattern:

Salary is £55,000 to £70,000, depending on experience and qualification, plus bonus and private healthcare. The wider package includes 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, pension, free on-site parking and an early finish on Fridays.
