A growing construction business, which is now a division of a listed group, is seeking a Management Accountant to support the Finance Director in this newly created role. With a turnover of around £20 million, the company is entering an exciting new chapter of growth and investment, offering an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on accountant. The business uses Sage 200. This is a broad and varied position, providing exposure to both operational and strategic elements of the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, management accounts, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and supporting year‑end processes
- Supporting group reporting requirements and consolidations
- Providing financial insight to operational managers to support decision‑making
- Assisting with project accounting and revenue recognition
- Driving continuous improvement in systems, reporting, and controls
- Working closely with the Finance Director on ad‑hoc projects and business integration activities
About You:
- Part‑qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a management accounting role
- Strong technical accounting and analytical skills
- Construction industry experience and knowledge of revenue recognition would be advantageous, but not essential
