An established, capital-intensive business is looking to appoint a Treasury & Asset Based Lending Manager to take ownership of the financial management and optimisation of its asset-based lending arrangements.
This is a role for someone who understands how cash flow, invoicing, working capital and an ABL facility interact, and who can identify opportunities to improve the company's cash performance and available funding headroom.
The Role
Reporting into the CFO, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing the key inputs into the company's asset-based lending facility, ensuring the business maximises the funding available to it while maintaining strong financial control.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day financial aspects of the company's asset-based lending facility
- Monitoring invoicing, receivables and other inputs that determine borrowing capacity and available headroom
- Understanding how changes in debtors, invoicing and working capital impact cash availability
- Monitoring borrowing levels, facility headroom and covenant compliance
- Preparing information and supporting the quarterly audit process
- Managing reporting requirements associated with the lending facility
- Working closely with finance and operational teams to ensure invoices and other funding inputs are accurate and timely
- Monitoring inventory and its impact on working capital and funding capacity
- Identifying opportunities to improve cash conversion and overall cash performance
- Providing clear analysis to senior management on liquidity, funding capacity and working capital
- Supporting wider treasury and corporate finance initiatives as required
About You
We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of asset-based lending, invoice discounting and treasury, rather than simply a traditional accounting background.
You may currently be working within:
- An ABL / invoice finance environment
- A bank or specialist lender
- Corporate finance / working capital advisory
- A treasury function within a highly leveraged or capital-intensive business
- A finance role where you have had significant responsibility for borrowing facilities and cash management
You will need to understand how cash actually moves through a business, how invoicing and debtor performance affect borrowing capacity, and how the ABL facility impacts the wider treasury position and banking covenants.
