A privately owned supplier to blue chip clients with a turnover of £250m is looking to recruit a Commercial Analyst. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Operations, Sales, and Finance to drive insight, performance, and smarter decision-making across the business. This is a great opportunity for an analytically minded, Excel-savvy professional who enjoys turning complex data into actionable insight—and is confident building and maintaining robust financial models to support growth.
About the Role
The Commercial Analyst will act as a key business partner to the Operations and Sales teams, delivering accurate, insightful analysis to inform commercial strategy and day-to-day decisions. You'll have direct responsibility for the financial oversight of key customer accounts and the development of costing and profitability models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting, costing, and performance tracking
- Provide detailed analysis to support the annual budget and regular reforecasts
- Partner with operations and sales teams to provide commercial insight and decision support
- Ensure accuracy of sales invoicing and purchase orders through customer collaboration
- Produce profitability reporting and analyse variances and trends
- Monitor labour usage across contracts and customer sites
- Ensure business data is accurate, accessible, and used effectively
What We're Looking For:
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, including advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Ability to manage and manipulate large data sets into meaningful business reports
- Experience presenting complex analysis clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across departments
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA part-qualified/qualified, or equivalent experience
- Commercially minded with a proactive, problem-solving approach
