Job Summary
The Finance Analyst plays a critical role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making. The position is responsible for preparing comprehensive monthly management accounts, supported by meaningful analysis and clear commentary to provide management with actionable insights. The role also supports the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation and posting of journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations. In addition, the Management Accountant ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards and maintains strong adherence to internal control policies and financial governance procedures.
Role Accountabilities, Expectations, and Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts in line with reporting deadlines
- Deliver detailed variance analysis with clear, value-added commentary on financial performance
- Support operational and strategic decision-making through robust financial analysis and reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal postings, accruals, and prepayments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and promptly investigate and resolve reconciling items
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal financial policies
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial governance procedures
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Assist with the preparation and review of monthly payroll
- Support annual budgeting processes and periodic financial forecasting activities

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- 2-3 years of accounting experience ideally in audit or manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with management account preparation
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Working towards a professional qualification, AAT/CIMA
