Position
This part‑time role offers 26.5 hours per week at a salary of £32,412 per annum (FTE £48,925) working 8 am to 5 pm. Week 1 cycle: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday; Week 2 cycle: Thursday/Friday/Saturday.
As a Paramedic working as a Court Healthcare Professional, you will use your clinical expertise to support the health, safety, and welfare of custodial prisoners. Your responsibilities include diagnosing conditions, identifying appropriate interventions, maintaining accurate records, and providing clinical advice within the court setting. Experience in a secure establishment is an advantage.
Duties include
- Adhere to local policies and the HCPC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Accurately document consultation notes in a timely manner.
- Recognise opportunities for health education during consultations.
- Refer to the Clinical Service Delivery Manager, peers, or colleagues for advice while maintaining accountability.
- Remain professionally focused on service delivery in an unpredictable, diverse, and challenging workload.
Requirements
- QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Current HCPC registration as a paramedic with no pending investigations or suspensions.
- EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: Minimum 3 years post‑qualification as a paramedic; evidence of consolidating clinical practice.
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: Clinical autonomy and working in a secure establishment (advantage).
- Continuous Professional Development evidence.
- Basic IT skills.
- Fluent English communication.
- Full driving licence.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Teamwork ability and autonomy when required.
- Ability to identify and correct signs and symptoms of a deteriorating patient.
- Clear and concise communication, especially with patients and third parties.
- Influence clinical situations and make informed decisions quickly.
- Remain calm and professional in an intense environment.
