Position: This position is offering 26.5 hours per week £32,412 per annum (FTE £48,925) working 8am to 5pm.
As a Nurse, you will be part of a close team using your clinical expertise to take full responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of custodians within the court setting. You will diagnose, identify appropriate interventions, maintain records and provide clinical advice and guidance in a court setting. Experience within a prison secure establishment would be an advantage.
Duties
- Adhere to and implement CQC and local policies and procedures while working within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Apply critical analysis to the synthesis of complex information during the care process to provide accurate advice and health information, including medication, to patients to empower and enable them to act on advice given.
- Keep immediate and accurate records of service user enquiries during the consultation.
- Accurately document consultation notes in a timely fashion to support clinical guidance and intervention.
- Identify and use information sources to support and underpin clinical decision-making.
- Recognise opportunities for providing health education during the consultation process and refer to appropriate health care providers as required.
- Refer to the Service Delivery Manager, peers or colleagues as necessary for advice, while maintaining accountability for decisions related to clinical calls and operational needs.
- Demonstrate the ability to remain focused on service delivery while managing a demanding workload.
- Maintain a working knowledge of standard procedures and escalate issues affecting service delivery as necessary.
Qualifications, Training and Experience
- Current registration with NMC as a Nurse with no investigations/suspensions current or pending.
- Previous experience of clinical autonomy.
- Able to demonstrate Continuous Professional Development.
Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum 3 years post qualification as a paramedic.
- Evidence of consolidating post qualification practice.
- Primary and Acute Secondary Care Experience.
- Experience within a prison secure establishment would be an advantage.
- Basic IT skills.
- Ability to speak fluent English.
- Full driving licence.
- Smart, professional appearance and conduct.

- Ability to identify and correct signs and symptoms of a deteriorating patient.
- Clear and concise communication skills, especially when interacting with patients and third parties.
- Ability to influence a clinical situation.

- Ability to remain calm and professional in an intense working environment.

Salary: £32,412 per annum (FTE £48,925) working 8am to 5pm
Part-time hours: 26.5 per week
Week 1 – Mon/Tues/Weds; Week 2 – Thurs/Fri/Sat
You\’ll work an average of 26.5 hours across a 2 week rota (covering Monday to Saturday) from 8am to 5pm
