The Role

Reports to : Head of Legal

Location : WeWork HQ, Waterloo – Hybrid (hybrid working model)

Remuneration: £80k to £100k (Base), Growth Shares, Company Performance Bonus and Wider UK Benefits

We are looking for a dynamic Technology Lawyer to join our London team. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you’ll be a trusted legal advisor and a key player in shaping our legal team and approach as we expand globally.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

No two days are the same at iProov. You’ll play a pivotal role in:

  • Drafting, Reviewing & Negotiating: Supporting the drafting, negotiation and review of technology-related contracts, commercial contracts and deals globally including advising on RFIs/RFPs, customer contracts, software licensing agreements, reseller agreements, teaming agreements, vendor contracts, SaaS agreements, data processing agreements and cloud computing agreements.
  • Providing Legal Support and Guidance: Providing legal counsel and guidance on a wide range of legal matters including intellectual property, data privacy and regulatory compliance matters related to the development of biometric products.
  • Internal Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating with various internal stakeholders from across the business including with our sales, product and engineering teams and working with our compliance team to provide support on privacy and data protection matters. Ability to present legal findings and recommendations to senior management and the Head of Legal.
  • Legal Projects: Prioritising and leading legal projects with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Cross-Border Transactions: Supporting international expansion and cross-border transactions.
  • External Counsel Management: Managing external legal counsel, as needed.
  • Legal Operations & Strategy: Contributing to the development of legal precedents, toolkits, playbooks and helping to create and implement new processes and frameworks for legal reviews and inputs that are scalable and support our rapid growth.
  • Training & Thought Leadership: Developing training materials and delivering presentations on relevant legal topics to internal teams.

Who We’re Looking For

At iProov, we’re breaking boundaries, so we need someone with a growth mindset—a legal professional who is curious, analytical, and commercially sharp.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience gained at a top-tier law firm and in-house.
  • Qualified US or UK lawyer with a minimum of 2 years of PQE.
  • Understanding of the practical and legal concerns that may apply to technology deals and in commercial contracting including from an intellectual property and data privacy perspective.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with various departments, including sales, product, engineering, compliance and finance to provide timely and practical legal advice.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with an ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders in a clear, concise, and understandable manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and effectively manage and prioritise a busy caseload, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at managing expectations and ensuring sign-off on key matters from the relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to make practical risk-based decisions using commercial pragmatism.
