The Role:

  • Location: WeWork HQ, Waterloo - Hybrid (minimum twice in the office per week)

iProov is scaling at speed, and we’re looking for a dynamic Technology Lawyer to join our London team. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you’ll be a trusted advisor and a key player in shaping our legal approach as we expand globally. This is more than just a legal role—it’s an opportunity to drive innovation, influence commercial strategy, and work at the cutting edge of digital identity.

  • Drafting & Negotiating: Shape the future of digital security by negotiating technology contracts that power our business.
  • Building Scalable Legal Processes: Create agile, risk-based policies and frameworks to support our rapid growth.
  • Protecting Our Assets: Draft employment policies, safeguard our IP, and collaborate with external counsel on real estate agreements.
  • Training & Thought Leadership: Educate teams across multiple functions and contribute to public policy projects in the digital identity space.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Support: Work closely with our Compliance function to navigate privacy, data protection, and industry regulations.
  • Legal Operations & Strategy: Contribute to legal toolkits, playbooks, and scalable contract processes that support our growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Product, Security, Revenue, Marketing, and People to align legal strategies with business goals.

What we would like to see from you:

  • Legal Expertise: Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE. Strong legal experience in commercial contracts, whether at a top law firm or in-house. Effective contract negotiation skills, from RFP to signature. Ideally, in-house experience in tech, fintech, or regtech.
  • Business-Focused & Commercially Savvy: Proven ability to draft and negotiate contracts with clients and contribute to revenue growth. A pragmatic, risk-based approach to legal decision-making. Experience working with Sales/Growth teams to accelerate deals.
  • Stakeholder & Project Management: Ability to prioritise and lead legal projects across international teams. Skilled at managing expectations with senior leadership, including the Head of Legal and Exec Team.
  • Regulatory, Privacy, and AI Enthusiasm: Keen interest in data privacy, AI, financial regulations, and emerging laws. Openness to learning and navigating new regulatory landscapes.
  • Inter-personal and Communication Skills: Strong inter-personal skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with various departments. Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and effectively manage and prioritise a busy caseload, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-Savvy Mindset: Previous experience in a tech-driven company is a plus. Familiarity with fintech or regtech industries would be helpful.
  • Other experience that would be useful: Experience with biometrics and identity verification technologies. Experience with international data transfers and cross-border transactions. Experience with intellectual property law. Experience of relevant financial services regulations (such as DORA) and public sector contracting.
