Computer Vision Research Engineer (PAD)

Responsibilities
- Research, prototype, and evaluate new approaches to strengthen biometric security against both presentation attacks, such as masks, printed photos, and screen replays, and emerging threats such as face swaps, synthetic media, and injection attacks.
- Improve the accuracy, robustness, and performance of our biometric systems through experimentation, model development, and analysis of system weaknesses.
- Work closely with Data Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers to understand data challenges, investigate issues, and develop scalable solutions for biometric security.
- Help develop datasets, tools, and evaluation methods that support the testing and improvement of biometric systems.
- Proactively identify new attack patterns, failure modes, and opportunities to strengthen the resilience of our biometric systems.
- Stay up to date with developments in computer vision, machine learning, and biometric security, and apply relevant ideas to our products.
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to share findings and bring new ideas into production.
Qualifications
- A Masters or PhD in a numerate discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Computational Neuroscience.
- Proven proficiency or experience in machine learning and computer vision.
- Proactive, highly motivated, and curious, with a desire to understand problems and find effective solutions.
- Comfortable turning ideas into experiments and prototypes, and using evidence to drive decisions.
- Interest in modern AI technologies, including generative AI and agentic systems, and a willingness to explore how they can be applied to real‑world problems.
- Strong communication skills and enjoys working with cross‑functional teams.
