The Role
- Reports to: Head of Core AI
- Location: UK Hybrid (3 times per week in the office)

iProov has continued to scale rapidly this year and is currently looking for a Senior Research Engineer to join the growing Core AI team based in London. As a Senior Research Engineer in Core AI, you will design, build and ship the computer vision and ML models that power iProov's facial biometric and liveness systems. You'll own projects endâtoâend, from idea and experiment to production integration and incident response, in a highly adversarial security context.
How You Can Make an Impact
- Lead research projects in the areas of computer vision, machine learning and biometrics.
- Develop and train deep learning models for face verification, liveness and attack detection.
- Take the lead on shaping data and evaluation strategies, including synthetic and adversarial data.
- Investigate failure modes and improve generalisation, robustness and fairness.
- Work with platform and optimisation engineers to turn models into productionâquality services.
- Communicate results and recommendations clearly with stakeholders across the business.
- Contribute to the broader research strategy of the company.
What We Would Like to See From You
- At least 2â3 years' experience delivering machine learning or computer vision systems in an industry environment.
- A Master's or PhD in a numerated discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering or Computational Neuroscience.
- Proven experience of highâquality delivery in machine learning and computer vision.
- Strong mathematical ability.
- Proficiency in Python and modern deep learning frameworks.
- Strong problemâsolving skills and outâofâbox thinking.
- Experience working on challenging problems at the frontâline of the field of computer vision.
- Experience generating and using synthetic data.
- Experience or supervising junior engineers.
