Overview
Relationship Manager - Trade Finance Sales responsible for managing and developing relationships with institutional clients and corporate counterparties, with a focus on trade finance products and related credit processes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver on strategic targets on an autonomous basis as provided from Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Trade Finance Sales
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the internal network for product development and identification of opportunities
- Identify, attract and maintain relationships with relevant institutional client profiles, including FI’s & NBFI’s from a Local RM perspective
- Identify, attract and maintain relationships with relevant corporate client profiles in all sectors relevant to the Coverage Team
- Structure and negotiate terms and conditions with prospective clients
- Drive the credit approval process in coordination with the relevant analyst to the standards set by Credit Assessment Unit on a cradle to grave principle
- Manage and monitor existing credit exposure against deterioration issues (market and client specific) through the Credit Assessment Unit
- Understand and implement CDD procedures for allocated client base and transactions
- Observe Financial Crime Risk Appetite and related procedures as published and amended from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
- Academic background in a relevant field with qualifications such as CDCS or CITF
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Banking trade finance, commodity trading, or a multinational trade finance department
- Experience dealing with senior management and reporting/communication requirements
- Significant exposure to standard trade finance products and wider trade finance elements such as structured trade finance (STF)
- Ability to autonomously assess the impact of the division on the wider department and deliver added value consistently
