The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for originating, structuring, and managing commercial real estate finance transactions, with a focus on development and bridging finance opportunities. You'll work closely with borrowers, brokers, intermediaries, and professional advisers, building long-term relationships while delivering tailored financing solutions. This is a highly visible position within the business, offering the opportunity to work across the full transaction lifecycle alongside Credit Risk and Executions teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, and manage a portfolio of commercial real estate finance clients
  • Source and execute development finance and bridging finance transactions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, brokers, intermediaries, and professional advisers
  • Conduct credit assessments, cashflow analysis, and valuation reviews
  • Negotiate financing structures, terms, and covenants
  • Monitor portfolio performance, refinancing activity, and extension requests
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support wider business growth initiatives
  • Conduct site visits and support post-completion transaction monitoring
  • Collaborate closely with Credit Risk, Executions, and external stakeholders throughout the lending process

About You

  • 5+ years' experience within commercial real estate finance
  • Strong track record in development finance and bridging finance
  • Established network of brokers, introducers, and industry contacts
  • Proven business development and deal origination capability
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, property-secured lending, and financing structures
  • Commercially astute with excellent relationship management skills
  • Able to operate autonomously and make an immediate impact
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
