On July 1, 2025, IPL merged with Schoeller Allibert to form IPL Schoeller (the ‘company’). Its operations are split across North America (11 manufacturing plants), The UK and Lommel (6 manufacturing plants) and Europe (9 manufacturing plants). Job Overview

The Procurement Director is a senior leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s strategy and sourcing. This role focuses on developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize spend, build a resilient and compliant supply network, enhance supplier performance, and drive sustainability to deliver financial benefits and added value. The scope of this role includes responsibility for various spend categories across the global spend.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide strategic procurement leadership through the development and execution of a comprehensive procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals while delivering spend optimization and value added.
  • Category and supply chain strategy – lead strategic procurement and subsequent categories, ensuring alignment with business and operational needs. Support long‑term success by developing policies, processes, and systems that enhance procurement and category capabilities.
  • Supplier relationship and risk management – build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to drive value and ensure compliance standards are met. Assess supply chain risks and develop resilient strategies to safeguard business continuity at minimum cost.
  • Cost management and financial oversight – monitor procurement category spend, strategically source and negotiate contracts, and optimize the supply chain delivery to achieve financial targets and efficiencies.
  • Sustainability and compliance – integrate sustainable procurement practices, including GHG emissions assessment and environmentally responsible sourcing. Ensure compliance with labor, safety, environmental, and trade regulations across procurement activities to support IPL’s sustainability goals.
  • Stakeholder collaboration – collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and cross‑functional teams to align procurement frameworks and priorities with business needs. Facilitate communication across teams to implement changes and drive improvements effectively.
  • Team leadership and development – lead, coach, and mentor direct reports to foster high performance and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure team alignment with organizational values and objectives.
  • Performance monitoring and continuous improvement – establish and monitor KPIs to measure procurement category effectiveness and efficiency, establish protocols for corrective action and feedback, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the highest data integrity standards to support procurement operations and the decision‑making process.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, ISM, EIPM, etc.)
  • Related bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field or prior experience as a Procurement Director.
  • Ability to understand operational processes, customer requirements, and technical attributes of the product range.
  • Commercially and financially astute; experience in multisite P&L management with clear ability to forecast, manage budgets and costs.
  • Strong business results orientation: ability to align procurement agenda with broader business parameters and excellent business intuition.
  • Ability to successfully lead and implement change, structure, and process and take a common‑sense approach to encouraging continual cultural, technological, and operational transformation.
  • Experience of M&A‑led growth and integration with knowledge of how business is conducted on a global scale and the ability to work effectively with senior leadership.
  • An inspiring leader who can attract and retain key talent for the division. Experience leading, coaching, building teams and mentoring highly skilled and experienced direct reports.
  • Comfortable working both at a strategic and a tactical level, with a demonstrated ability to be hands‑on and remain close to sales and operations.
  • ERP experience (IFS advantageous but not essential).
  • Experience in a Private Equity (PE) environment is advantageous.
