We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Hygienist to become a vital part of our onsite Hygiene Team at our largest produce site in Sittingbourne. Position Details
- Schedule: 4 on 4 off - (19:00 pm - 07:00 am) NIGHTS
- Location: IPL Sittingbourne - Site Based
- Contract Type: Permanent
We are looking for a dedicated Hygiene Operative to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety across our fresh produce facilities. This role is critical in maintaining a food-safe environment through meticulous cleaning procedures, chemical handling in line with COSHH regulations, and proactive reporting. You'll play a key part in ensuring operational efficiency and compliance in a fast-paced production setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Executing all daily cleaning tasks as outlined in the washer area cleaning schedule.
- Thoroughly cleaning two grader lanes each evening to maintain operational standards.
- Ensuring the floor area and grids beneath washers are cleared of all potatoes and debris.
- Using cleaning chemicals in full compliance with COSHH regulations, and ensuring all substances and equipment are stored safely, hygienically, and in their designated cupboards.
- Completing all required documentation daily, and promptly reporting any issues or damage identified during cleaning to team leaders.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in a factory or industrial environment.
- Previous hygiene or cleaning experience (preferred but not essential).
- A solid understanding of workplace Health and Safety policies.
- The ability to work efficiently and methodically under time constraints.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A positive attitude towards following instructions and operational procedures.
- Willingness to undertake any training required for the role.
- Food Safety Level 1 certification or equivalent (desirable).
- COSHH certification (desirable).
