Join our dynamic onsite Technical Team at IPL Telford. This position is for a Technical Assistant at our Nuts & Dried Fruit facility. If you are passionate about technical work and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role is ideal for you.
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday - Friday (09:00am - 5:30pm)
- Location: IPL, Telford - Site Based
- Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract of 18 months
Your Key Responsibilities
- Quality & Technical Support
- Help the QA team with product sampling, audits, and line checks.
- Support the Technical Advisor by investigating complaints, updating documents, placing purchase orders, and maintaining reports and specifications.
- Product Testing & Evaluation
- Ensure products are tested at end‑of‑life.
- Log and follow up on consistency panel samples reviewed by Asda.
- New Product Launch Support
- Assist with sample storage, market research, and kitchen sample preparation.
- Help scale up factory trials and manage shelf‑life testing.
- Support intake checks for new ingredients and packaging.
- Complete tasks on the project timeline, including specs, artwork checks, and sample submissions.
- Operations & Documentation
- Brief Operations on new products and document first production runs.
- Submit samples to Brandbank, SGS, and Asda.
- Keep product details updated on Asda.com.
- Additional Duties
- Take part in internal audits and lead process improvements.
- Act as a Food Safety Culture Champion.
Skills And Knowledge
- Internal auditing
- IT proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – ability to create documents, tables, graphs, spreadsheets (including basic formulas)
- Relevant Food Industry experience
- Previous experience using Asda’s Hive System
- Working knowledge of Allergen Management
- Understanding BRC standards for Food Manufacturing (Desirable)
- Previous experience using retailer specification systems (Desirable)
Qualifications
- GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English with a pass grade
- Food Safety Level 2
- HACCP Level 2 (Desirable)
- VACCP/TACCP Level 2 (Desirable)
- Internal Audit Training (Desirable)
