About The Role
Join Our Dynamic Onsite Production Team at IPL Inchture! We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Machine Minder to become a vital part of our onsite Production Team at our Potato site in Inchture. If you are passionate about Operations and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role is perfect for you!
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45am – 4:15pm (DAYS)
- Location: IPL, Inchture – Site Based Role
- Contract Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
As a Machine Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of machinery within a fast-paced production environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Workplace Safety & Cleanliness: Monitoring the work area to ensure a safe environment and maintaining machinery to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Safety Checks & Maintenance: Completing daily machine safety checks in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule.
- SOP Compliance: Supporting the implementation and ongoing adherence to SOP requirements.
- Performance Monitoring: Tracking and recording machine performance, including packs per minute (PPM), and ensuring product weights remain within specification.
- Changeovers: Carrying out product changeovers efficiently and safely, minimising downtime.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the Packaging Team and Packaging Coordinator to ensure all packaging materials are prepared and available ahead of production runs.
- Communication: Reporting issues clearly and promptly to Line Leaders and Engineers.
- Standards Adherence: Upholding ‘World Class’ operational standards at all times.

- Experience: Previous experience in a production or fast-moving environment.
- Technical Skills: Practical skills with a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work methodically and efficiently.
- Health & Safety Awareness: A sound understanding of workplace health and safety policies.
- Problem Solving: A results-driven mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Attention to Detail: An analytical thinker with a keen eye for detail, even when performing repetitive tasks.
- Communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Language Proficiency: A good level of understanding of the English language.
- Teamwork & Initiative: Excellent team working skills with the ability to work independently when required.
