The Technical Experienced Business Analyst works more independently, managing technical business analysis tasks by conducting detailed analyses of business processes, developing technical documentation, and ensuring that technical solutions align with business requirements. This role requires a deeper understanding of system architectures, APIs, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The individual also plays a key role in liaising between technical and business teams. Typically, this mid-level role responsibilities include identifying opportunities for process improvement and system integration.

Essential Job Functions
  • Requirements Gathering: Independently elicit and document detailed technical and business requirements.
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Perform in-depth analysis of existing systems, identifying gaps and recommending improvements. Conduct and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate solution functionality.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Proactively suggest improvements to technical processes and business workflows.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with developers and architects to define system requirements and technical solutions. Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding.
  • Documentation: Create technical documentation, such as data models, system diagrams, and functional specifications.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Technical Competencies
  • Understanding of SDLC Methodologies: Deeper understanding of SDLC methodologies and the ability to apply them in various project contexts.
  • Advanced Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Proficiency in gathering detailed technical requirements, understanding complex business needs, and documenting functional and non-functional requirements independently.
  • System Architecture Understanding: Solid knowledge of system architectures, APIs, and the integration of systems. Capable of understanding and documenting how different systems interact.
  • Data Modeling & Process Mapping: Skilled in creating data models, entity relationship diagrams (ERDs), and process maps to represent business and technical workflows.
  • Testing Coordination & Execution: Ability to coordinate and execute UAT, system testing, and validation processes. Capable of developing test cases/scenarios.
  • Data Analysis: Intermediate knowledge of SQL or querying tools for data extraction and analysis, used to support business decisions.
  • Tools Mastery: Proficiency in business analysis and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Visio, Confluence) to document, track, and communicate requirements and progress.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Highly advanced and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Basic Programming/Scripting Knowledge: Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to understand developers' technical discussions, though not required to code.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience of business analysis or related experience.
  • Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, including gathering, documenting, and managing requirements.
  • Working knowledge of system architecture, data flows, and technical integrations.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, data modeling, and querying languages (e.g., SQL).
