iPeople Sc Solutions is currently recruiting for a Sheltered Housing Officer to work for our client based in Southwark and surrounding areas. The successful post holder will be working at a remote sheltered housing officer site.
Responsibilities
- Deliver an enhanced housing management service which continually improves the quality of life and satisfaction with services for older and vulnerable residents and maximises the opportunity to work with key partners and stakeholders.
- Ensure the health and safety of sheltered housing tenants is maintained and all potential risks are minimised so that tenants live in a safe and secure environment.
- Ensure that buildings are maintained to a high standard and that residents' needs are taken into account for planned maintenance.
- Report and monitor household repairs.
- Minimise loss of revenue from vacant homes.
- Minimise revenue loss from rent arrears.
- Respond to reports of anti-social behaviour or other breaches of tenancy in accordance with procedures.
- Work with key agencies to share relevant information appropriately.
- Contribute to service development, improvement and resident involvement to achieve satisfaction with services.
- Carry out health and safety checks of the building/residents, report repairs, make referrals, support residents with housing-related issues and also carry out risk assessments on vulnerable residents.
Requirements
- Experience of working with older people in the community or a sheltered housing environment and of implementing relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Experience of monitoring older people to ensure that appropriate safeguarding standards are robustly maintained.
- Experience of working in a performance management environment and experienced in the development and meeting of personal and team performance targets.
- Ability to collate accurate statistics, write clear simple reports, use IT systems and maintain effective written records.
- Must be flexible about work location as may be required to work in different locations across the city to deliver the Housing Service.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
Working Hours
8.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday.
